The base recipe for this soap is an all natural buttermilk to which is added skin loving kokum butter and palm kernel flakes to thicken the batter. The other butters and oils in this soap are coconut oil and castor oil. The dark blue of the sky is created with activated charcoal which is commonly used for detoxification and cleansing. The water used in this soap is from the sea at Prince Edward Island in Canada. In addition, the lower brown portion of this soap contains a small amount of the famous red soil of Prince Edward Island. PEI is known for homemade soap-making and for incorporating the soil in its soap recipes. We topped the soap with non-toxic gold powder. All in all, this soap was an adventure to make and a pleasure to use.
